TRAINING PACKAGES WE PROVIDE

IR35

Thanks to our extensive background in this field, we are able to send a member of our team to get you up to speed with the tricky piece of legislation that is IR35. No matter your current understanding of the off-payroll working rules, by the end of this training we hope to provide you with a solid understanding of all things IR35 related as well as confidence in your compliance.

Outsource MSP Training

Outsource MSP training helps you understand the difference between a genuine managed service provider and the provision of labour. This helps mitigate the risks that come along with the potential transfer of liability with IR35 reform. We will help you feel confident enough to be able to accurately identify an MSP.

SDC

Supervision, direction or control. You are bound to have heard at least one of these words when coming into contact with IR35. SDC is also a key test with regard to the Agency Legislation. For this reason, you must have a solid grasp of this concept.

Onshore Employment Intermediaries Legislation

In short, intermediaries engaging sole traders must be able to demonstrate that none of their workers who are providing services on a self-employed basis are subject to supervision, direction, or control by the end client. Otherwise, such workers must be placed onto the payroll of the intermediary engaging them. This piece of legislation is not short of its nuances and, therefore, should be considered carefully.

SECTION 660a

Section 660a was introduced with the intention of preventing limited company contractors from paying a lower rate of tax on their earnings by passing some income to other family members who pay the aforementioned lower rates. The training package we provide on Section 660a here at Qdos aims to increase your understanding and awareness of this intricate set of rules.

EMPLOYMENT STATUS

This training package considers the employment status of sole traders. If you find yourself engaging sole traders, it is best to ensure you and your employees are clued up on the risk that this presents in terms of tax liability.

Working in the public sector

We are not only here to help those in the private sector. As you may well know, we saw the implementation of the public sector IR35 reform back in April of 2017. Here at Qdos, we experienced this changeover first hand and assisted many public sector bodies prepare and implement changes to ensure compliance with IR35 reform.

24 MONTH RULE

The 24 month rule relates to contractors being able to claim back on travel expenses. They may only do so if their place of work is classed as ‘temporary’. To be classed as such, the contractor’s engagement there must not exceed 24 months. There are a few other stipulations relating to the 24 month rule which the training we offer goes into greater detail of.

Budget updates (where relevant)

We are used to seeing two budget updates a year. One tends to be in Spring and the other in Autumn. At Qdos we provide any training that may be required relating to these budget updates.

Changes in legislation relevant to contractors

This training package we offer is quite self-explanatory. It focuses on keeping you up to date with any changes to relevant tax legislation or any new legislation that could conceivably affect contractors.
